Birthday Rose - December Mood Board

Hello, and Happy Sunday to you all!
It's Donna here, and I'm so happy to be sharing with you again.

Hasn’t this year flown by? I can't believe December is here already. Every year seems to bring so much that is unexpected, some bad but much of it good. Mostly, all this unexpected extra activity mainly just makes for a whole lot of busyness that I try to get rid of every January when I work out my new year’s resolutions. ( I've been unsuccessful so far, but next year's a new year, right?)

Isn’t this month’s Mood Board Gorgeous?  I love the cool colours and the silver sparkle. I’ve tried to capture some of this loveliness in my card this month.

I used the Just a Rose stamp set for my main image and stamped it in Memento ink, so that I could colour the image with my Copics. I grabbed out  and sampled all my light blue Copics and used different combinations for each petal, moving from blues to blue greens to blue violets. Once I had coloured the rose, I cut it out, leaving a small white border all the way around.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of soft navy card stock, and heat embossed it in silver. I also added some silver spatters to the background piece. The final touch? Some Kennedy Grace sequins! The sequins matched perfectly with the colours of the rose. These are from the Kennedy Grace Beachside Bliss selection. I used the blue and clear sequins, and left the green ones for a later card.

I cut the background panel with a stitched die, and layered it onto a card base. The flower has been popped up with some foam tape to give the card a bit more dimension.

Have you thought about joining in with the mood board. We'd love to see what you make!
Here's the board for inspiration.

It's been lovely to share with you. Until next time, may your days be full of joy.
Blessings,

Donna

One Layered Card - Featuring Kennedy Grace Creations: Time To Blossom

Hey folks! I'm back to share a card from the Kennedy Grace Creations New Release! The stamp set I used today is the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . I really enjoyed the simplicity of this set. You could totally heat emboss this and do some fabulous watercoloring, but Copic's seems to be the way to go for me lately so that's what I did. I started by stamping the image twice on my card panel. The only masking I did was a tiny bit on the stem. The name of the game was to keep this super simple folks. As I said, I colored the images with Copic's. Another thing I enjoy about the Time To Blossom Stamp Set is that you could choose any colors you wanted. I chose red-violets and yellow-greens, but seriously peeps, whatever floats your boat and it will looks great! To finish off my card, I used a added a couple of hand drawn lines to the background and I stamped a portion of a stamp that is also in the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . That's it! Easy peasy. T
